I love snapdragons!

Rachel was excited to snip the dead peonies off today, I almost lost a finger. My hygiene career flashed before my eyes.

Since she doesn't blog anymore (that's just a hint, Laurie), I thought I'd post this pic of Laurie and Addison with my Abby. Laurie stopped in today, and I got 2 free plants! They have just finished up their landscaping and I got the leftovers. She said she will post pics of the finished job.

Thomas was just taking a breather before coming in for his bath tonight.

A card from Rachel

Rachel has always been the easy child. You throw her some paper, coloring books, and crayons, and she is occupied for hours. It's even better now that she can write and make me cards. :)

Today

I was busy making cookies, Rachel and Adam were outside... and it was eerily quiet through the rest of the house. This is what I found Tommy and Abby doing- looking quietly at books. Amazing.

Well, I scrubbed the bathtub and made cookies today. I can't get to every room people.

Abby was pouring over the baby name book this afternoon... I see she made it all the way to "Z". Mondays (my big day out of the house) are fun because my co-workers are just FULL of suggestions for names. This weeks favorites were Elizabeth, Nichole, and Assyriah. That last one was from Tammy, of course.

A Fruity Day

Casey, Rachel, and Adam picked some cherries off Judy's (our next door neighbor) tree. Casey will be expecting his cobbler tomorrow, which I will lovingly prepare. Cherries just aren't my favorite fruit by any means.

My parents popped in for their bi-monthly visit, and they brought strawberries with them! Yum. We made strawberry shortcake yesterday, the best I've ever had. I think I will have it again tomorrow, like for lunch and dinner. I hope I don't screw anything up like I did the Amish friendship bread.

So what's your favorite fruit? How do you like it prepared, if at all?

Pregnancy Brain rears it's ugly head

Do you see these delectable muffins and breads? No sugar. That's right, I forgot to add the sugar. Now the chocolate ones are completely edible, as proven in the above photos. I added chocolate chips and chocolate pudding mix to those, can't go wrong with that. But the cinnamon bread is pretty sad. It needs lots of sugar. Monica, this is the Amish friendship bread that you gave me the starter to. Maybe you could make me another loaf to enjoy??? :)

Today's check up

I had a check up today at the O.B. office. Blood pressure-fine. Urine- fine. Weight- fine. I have 5 1/2 weeks to go. Casey says I might make it 2 more weeks. We'll see. Dr. H. said this will be the one to go to the due date. I think not. He has no idea how my pelvis feels. He asked if my bag was packed. I said "No, the hospital has everything I need." He suggested I have my camera and chapstick ready to go. Will do.
Oh, and I need to wash some baby clothes. I'll do that tomorrow.

The Last Few Days in Pictures

Adam and Abby enjoying a moment together

This is my giant out -of-place lily. The kids get a kick out of it. It will be moved next year.

The kids like to take all their toys and line them up to play "train", or arrange them in a circle to play "park". I'm so thankful for a fenced private backyard. There are days it looks like Sanford and son live here.

This lily popped open yesterday, I was happy to see one that wasn't pink.

Adam found a "HUGE!" beetle today. It was well over an inch long (which is big for us). We quickly fetched the bug field guide to try and figure out what it was.
The feet next to Adam belong to Jesse. He was in Rachel's class and he lives around the corner. He rides his bike over several times a day.

"Summer lovin', had me a blast. Summer lovin', happened so fast..."

Here he is- the stag beetle. Sorry Cathy, it was imperative to the story that you see him up close.

We pretty much live on the screened in porch in the summer. Here they are playing train again (and yes, that's Jesse again).
