Cookies

I just had to say that I checked this out from the library today! Love it! I like how the cookies are in chapters like "soft and chewy" or "crisp and crunchy". I really don't like to be surprised by a cookies consistency, so this takes the mystery out of it. Well, as mysterious as a cookie can be...

Speaking of cookies, do any of you make lebkuchen? My step dad has fond memories of it and my mom rolls her eyes every time he mentions it, so if you have a tried and true recipe, pass it along to me!

I'll ask my grandmother-in-law. She makes it good. It might take a while to get it from her. She not so quick at getting back to me :) She still write letters. Isn't that fun??
Oh and I made Tommy's Muffins yesterday. RAVE reviews! Little James said "Tommy has good taste!"

Amanda- are you ready? Say it with me now... LEB-kook-in. At least that's how I think you say it. Sarah V, is that right? We need your German expertise.

I have America's Test Kitchen Lost recipes and it has it. I'll copy it and get it to you. Not sure how it is, but their recipes are usually really good.

My Dutch Great Aunt used to make (phonetically) O-Lee-Kook-en Which if I remember right are donuts.

Oh Sweet, Sweet Lebkuchen! We used to eat it in Germany all the time. I always have my sister import when she comes over. I have never tried to make it though.
