Free = Fabulous

So Monday night I had to say good-bye to my beloved entertainment center. We bought it for 136.00 at Sears when we were first married. I remember these things. Anywho, it has seen better days. It has taken much abuse. A friend of Casey's was getting rid of his tv stand. We snatched it up...

Oooo, so sleek, so modern, so not Kara. I think it just needs some piles on top, that should do the trick.

Inside Anna's Head

"Hmmmm, I wonder how long it would take Tommy to find me if I climbed in here..."

"Mother, either cut these bangs or buy me some barettes!"

My Birthday

Some really great things have happened today.

1. I turned 34! Not that it's a great number, but hey- it's not 50!

2. I had a Subway sub after church. The bread was very soft, and there was a sufficient amount of lettuce on it.

3. I got gift certs to Barnes and Noble! Thank you Amanda and anonymous card giver from church! (How cool is that?!)

4. Rachel cuddled with me tonight. Awwwwwww.

5. I put Anna to bed and she did NOT cry herself to sleep. FOR THE SECOND NIGHT IN A ROW! It helps that she sucks on her fingers now.

6. I have one piece of pie left to eat. Good night everyone!

So tomorrow is my birthday. My parental units came today with a fresh baked pie. Oooooh Yeahhhh, my mom is the BEST! Look at Casey trying to get his mits on my pie!

Adam literally ran in circles all evening. The winter is really starting to wear on ALL of us. Poo poo to all of you going to Florida soon. And to those of you that are already in Hawaii. Hi Phil and Cathy! Miss you!

Abby loves the silverware drawer. This is how I found her tonight. I used to find Tommy sitting in the refrigerator at this age. I love 2 year olds.

Jenny is always so sweet, I got my birthday present a few days early- Anna enjoys it as much as I do. Check out her pinkie. :)

Oh aren't they precious. They still like to play house, Abby is always the baby, of course.

A rare photo moment with Adam! He is doing well in kindergarten, although he would tell you he'd rather stay home. They met George Washington this week, and apparently he is the founder of such novel ideas as keep your hands in your lap or raise your hand when you have a question. Well, that's what Adam said, anyway.

My Man

I just have to take a moment to brag about my husband. I came home early from work sick yesterday. Mind you, this is the day that he is home being Mr. Mom. I felt pukey, shakey and weak.

I put on my pj's and went to bed.
* He put a roast in the crock pot (too bad the smell made me want to gag).
I slept some more.
* He did a load of laundry.
I got up and moved to the couch.
*He went to get Adam and Rach from school.
I went back to bed.
*He cleaned and organized the boys room.
I was still sleeping.
*He set the table and got supper on.
I dragged (drug?) myself to the table and ate a little supper.
*He did all the dishes.
I went back to bed for a bit.
*He brushed everybody's teeth for bedtime.

I don't know what I would do without him. I am feeling much better today, which is a good thing since he is at work. Thank you God for this man in my life.

Happy Valentine's Day

I honestly didn't realize today was Valentine's Day until the mail came- the kids each got a Valentine and $1 from my Grandma B. They were thrilled of course!

So to all my family and friends out there- Happy Valentine's Day! Have some chocolate! I read chocolate can be a trigger for kidney stones, so just remember- everything in moderation. :)

What the ...?

I received an envelope in the mail the other day- it was from the post office. They apologized for the condition of my mail- they sent me the COVER of my magazine. I sure would like to read the rest of it.

Unfortunately Adam has inherited my decorating skills. I feel badly about that.

I am very sad that the batteries in my camera died- and there are no more in the cupboard! So no pictures of my wee ones. That takes me to the next item of business...

American Idol. Anybody watching? Any favorites this early on? I really like Danny Gohke. REALLY like him.

I am not known for my neat and tidy house. My children drag blankets and bathtubs all over. I thought they looked so precious here, even though they are a couple of piglets.

I love this picture of Anna! She's six months old now and into everything!

Rachel turned 7 yesterday! We celebrated over the weekend with Casey's family.

Heat Wave

Man, it is almost HOT out! Check out Casey enjoying the near tropical temps in his favorite shirt.

He was throwing snowballs at our firstborn child. He said, "I only hit her twice."

This picture is for Pam- see what Abby is playing with????

The big excitement this morning was having Mark H. and another man come to fix our heating problem (or lack thereof). The past 2 nights we haven't had any heat running through the bedrooms. Brrrrrrr. Tommy likes when Mark comes because he lets him play with his flashlight.

Anna slept for 2 1/2 hours in Abby's bed this morning as they pounded and drilled trying to fish some new wire up into our bedroom from the basement. I wish I could sleep like that.

On the Move

Anna will be 6 months old in 4 days! She is into everything! She has been a lot happier the past week-we have been trying very hard to get on some sort of routine. She now has a short nap in the morning and a long nap after lunch, and then bed time is around 8:30. Nighttime is not great, but definitely better since getting her day a little more structured. We are getting there!
