Rachel went to the ear/nose/throat doctor today. The doctor decided she would greatly benefit from having her adenoids out. Ahhhh, no more snoring, mouth breathing, etc. I'm so happy this will be taken care of before school starts! The procedure is scheduled for August 15 at Covenant Harrison. Please pray for her on that day, we would greatly appreciate it.

Oh, how I hope it helps. I truly do. When I was very young, I had mine out, and my snoring and mouth-breathing have only gotten worse as I've gotten older.
Kara,
Rachel - school! Doesn't seem possible! Wow!
Josh, that is rather sad. WHy didn't the surgery take care of the problem? I thought it was an easy fix (of course the doctors make it sound that way).
Cathy- she is more that ready, I hope it's as wonderful as she thinks it's going to be!
The surgery didn't take care of the problem, because adenoids weren't the source of the problem. I went to an ears/nose/throat doc in my teens, who told me plainly there was nothing he could do to help me, because God had simply built me that way. It wasn't something that surgery was going to fix because, medically, there was nothing wrong. Doesn't mean this will be the case with Rachel, though. In fact, I'm praying it's not.
I had the snoring problem when I was little too, but they had to take my tonsils out to fix the problem. Have they suggested removing her tonsils?
Kelly- the doctor said with her being a pretty healthy kid (she rarely has a cold, never complains of sore throats) we could do just adenoids. Her tonsils have always looked just fine.
We'll be praying. That's a big deal for a little girl. Hannah feels bad for Rachel that she has to go to a hospital and for sure have to get poked with stuff.
Kara,
I am praying!
We will be praying for Rachel too. She is a tough little girl.
I'm sorry that precieous little girl has to go through surgery. But, I will pray that it will be successful in every way.
