Here is a little night time activity that my kids call "running in a circle". For some reason it is loads of fun. I guess it beats vegging in front of the tv.

Kids can be so creative with naming their games. I mean, who would have thought of calling it "running in a circle"? It's like when a kid gets a black dog and wants to name him Blackie. Who would have thought of that? :)

I think Kelly is confusing "creative" with "grossly unoriginal." Don't get me wrong: I'm not knocking your kids. I used to name stuff the exact same way when I was little. Heck, I still do, sometimes. I'm just a little concerned that the school teacher thinks it's "creative" when kids call running in a circle "running in a circle."

Josh, are you being sarcastic too? I can never tell unless people use the :) symbol.

And I thought this post wouldn't generate any comments.

Just wait until Abby joins in, too!

As for kids naming their games, my brother, sister and I used to slide down the stairs in our house on our stomachs and we called it "Steaks Down the Stairs." My sister came up with it - as the story goes - because our parents wouldn't give us steak when they would have it for dinner because it was a grown-up food so, somehow, it became the name of our game!

How about this one? After the boy's bubble bath, we stick the bath mat on the shower wall and take the hand held shower and wash all the bubbles off. Aaron named this "The bubble down show" when he was about 3. Get it? Bubbles go down the mat and then down the drain.

My sister and I, when we were very young, would sit on my uncle's footstool (when we were at his house) and sing a song about how we were "driving in our oatmeal car." To this day, I find myself wondering just what an oatmeal car is.

I don't know, Josh, but I do love oatmeal.
