So we got our phone bill yesterday. There was a charge on there for $10.60 labeled hospital tv charge. What? Have any of you girl seen this before? I'm slightly annoyed. We watched a video on shaken baby syndrome and two videos on breastfeeding, but I don't recall anywhere saying we'd be charged for them. TEN DOLLARS?!?!?

I watched the shaken baby video too, and I haven't seen a bill/charge. Why on your phone bill? I even watched cable in the hospital and I don't think I was charged.
I told Casey it seemed hoakey. I KNEW IT!
I'd call them and ask. That sounds fishy to me, too.
We were charged to use the tv and phone - they came together as one bill. Did you have the phone turned on in your room? I had to watch the video too, but we also watched a bit of tv too.
Casey called and they took it off the bill. Apparently at this hospital they automatically charge you if you don't ask to have it shut off at first. Whatever. It wasn't for regular phone and tv but if you were going to watch the movie channels or something.
Weird, maybe my insurance paid for mine if I was charged. I'm glad they took it off for you.
I haven't heard of this one but one tip I did learn after my last baby is that if you call the hospital regarding the bill for your stay and ask if there is a discount availble if you pay by phone they will probably give you a little discount! I learned this on accident once when they thought I hadn't paid and called to offer me a discount if I would pay buy phone! I said, I have already paid you but I'll take a refund!! It only works for your hospital stay though.
Laurie- that was exactly it, it had to do with the insurance.
Krissy- that's funny! We have pretty good insurance, so no discount for me. :(
Actually, we have great insurance too, they just always give a discount when I ask. I don't know why.
Krissy, maybe it's because you're so nice?
