Tommy's First Cleaning

I am so proud of my Tommy! I took him to the office for the first time today and cleaned his teeth, and he did so great! He held the suction, and he didn't even gag on the prophy paste. I was elated! Tammy and Pattie were working at the front desk this morning, so of course Tammy gave lots of attention to Tommy, and even made him a "chicken".

I am declaring my child cavity-free (even though a hygienist isn't supposed to diagnose). Now if only I could get him to stop sucking his thumb.

Oh my. We just took J and L to the dentist for their first checkups and they did not come away with nearly the amazing loot that Tommy did. He looks like he was at a birthday party!

He's only borrowing the glasses until I go back to work on MOnday. I hope he's not too shook up about that. The girls at the office keep any happy meal toys that they get and we give them to the kids. :)

I know where to send my happy meal toys now. He looks like he made out like a bandit! What a big boy.

You better not try to touch that chicken (if its still alive) Tommy won't have anything to do with that. Can't blame him cuz i never got anything like that, just a sticker with a teethy smile on it.

I hope Liam does as well when he has his first check up in the future.

I used to love the suction thing too! That, and squirting the water at my sister and brothers!

I got my teeth cleaned this morning. Having your teeth and gums scraped and poked with sharp metal intruments is sort of like swallowing a live toad. Whatever else you do the rest of the day will seem wonderful in camparison. It's a great way to start the day. If Tommy enjoyed this you should try thumbscrews.

Phil, maybe if they gave you an inflated glove to play with like Tommy's it would take your mind off the tortuous procedure.
