So I am perusing the internet reading about mono. Have any of you had it?
Since Monday she has been very tired, pale, very little appetite, and yesterday she said it hurt when she lifted her arms up. All the sites I read about mentioned very sore lymph glands and very sore throat, which she has not complained about. I know it's a virus so they won't prescribe anything but rest and more rest and lots of fluids. I did have a couple kids with strep here a couple weeks ago, so I don't know...

I know it's a little out there, but could it be pneumonia? Hope you all feel better soon, and that spring really DOES come to MI soon!!
Yeah I think I'm overreacting with the mono dx, she just got up and her throat looks alright, and she laughed when I felt her glands, so that seems fine, too. With the sickness we've had this winter I'll believe anything!
The simplest ideas are usually the right ones. Work up from that if it doesn't work. 90% of what we worry about never occurs. Maybe she just needs a little extra sleep while she is growing and learning. Mono usually doesn't hit until the teen years or later. (They used to call it "the kissing disease.")
Good advice Phil. Lately she just wants to stay home from school to be with me. It makes me sad and happy all at the same time! She has been resting today and has been eating more today, so that is encouraging to me. She is my big eater, so I worry when she has no appetite.
I had mono in college. I slept ALL the time. My throat hurt and I slept ALL the time. Funny thing...my girlfriend had mono too. (she later became my wife).
Sorry to hear that Rachel is not well. I'm ready for spring! With it I hope all this illness goes away with the cold weather.
Mackenzie and Amber are both coughing and blowing their noses alot. We should have stock in Kleenex.
Blogging question? I've added a picture to my blog. I thought it would show up when I comment but it does not seem to.
There was a guy in my freshman biology class in high school. He missed about a month of class, and when he came back he was yellow. Seriously. Yellow. I realize this doesn't help you at all, but it's a good story.
Right. That last comment should begin, "There was a guy in my freshman biology class in high school, who got mono." In point of fact there were maybe 15 guys in my biology class. Only that one guy had mono, though. I think his name was Rob. I can't really remember. All I remember is that he was yellow. It freaked me out a little.
Sorry to hear she is sick. I had mono in high school. Phil's comment made me laugh. I did have it when i was a teen and we did ca;; it the "kissing disease".
I hope she feels better soon.
Has there been one week go by that all of your kids healthy? Sorry to hear that she is sick. Come on spring already!!!!!
Josh, that was a great story! Anytime I need a laugh I will look back at these comments.
Josh makes me laugh.
Yeah, I have no advice for you - sorry.
All I can say is that with everybody being so sick lately I am incredibly thankful that we have been healthy. I hope we continue to stay that way at least until we are back from vacation!
This is a clean template.
