A Fruity Day

Casey, Rachel, and Adam picked some cherries off Judy's (our next door neighbor) tree. Casey will be expecting his cobbler tomorrow, which I will lovingly prepare. Cherries just aren't my favorite fruit by any means.

My parents popped in for their bi-monthly visit, and they brought strawberries with them! Yum. We made strawberry shortcake yesterday, the best I've ever had. I think I will have it again tomorrow, like for lunch and dinner. I hope I don't screw anything up like I did the Amish friendship bread.

So what's your favorite fruit? How do you like it prepared, if at all?

I have to say it's a tie between strawberries and nectarines. I like the strawberry jam my mom makes. It's SO GOOD on a nice warm piece of toast. Nectarines, I like them cold :) Yummy!

I love almost every fruit. I love to go picking my own too. Strawberries, blueberries, apples, cherries. I love to eat them plain. When I'm in the mood, I make strawberry bread or bleberry something. But plain is my favorite!

I love strawberries. The little ones you pick in Michigan. And blueberries. And my favorite are red raspberries. But I like watermelon and cantelope a lot too. But apples and bananas (both with peanut butter or sunflower butter) win as far as frequency, mostly due to prices in the winter. As a girl my favorite was strawberries and bananas in milk with a little sugar on top--can't eat that now. But yum.

I never thought about milk and fruit together. Huh.

Kara what about you?

I think my favorite right now is Kara's strawberry shortcake.(hint, hint) But really, I love almost any kindof fruit, fresh, frozen, canned or whatever. We have a cherry tree. They are a lot of trouble to pit. The Hazen's love to eat them right off of the tree. They are queen anne cherries and are tart and never really get red. By the way, my father ate strawberry shortcake every day for months when he was in the hospital during the last year of his life.

I'm an apple fan, fruit and computer.

I would have to say blueberry pie all the way!!!! Or maybe apple pie if it's nice and juicy. I like sloppy runny pies, not all full of thickener, but nice juicy berries.

I'm afraid I am also a cherry cobbler fan...although I haven't made it in forever! Note to self! Otherwise I love bananas, strawberries, and grapes.

I will eat every vegetable except Brussels sprouts. Fruits, on the other hand, I'm VERY picky. I like peaches(canned not fresh - it's a texture thing), apples, bananas, melons of all kinds, oranges and pineapple. That's about it.

My mom said she ate so many strawberries when she was pregnant with me so that must be the reason I hate them now!

Betsy (Hmmm, some peas sound good about now)

Betsy! Vegetables are not discussed on this blog. You will have to start your own blog for that. Hint hint!!!!
